Chicken, Baked Cheddar Sandwiches
Ingredients
12 slices bread
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp.seasoned salt
1 can cream-of-mushroom-with garlic soup
1/2 can evaporated milk
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 tsp. H P or other thick meat sauce
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cups cooked chicken, diced
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese (or for a change use Mozzarella)
Instructions
Dip 12 slices firm-type bread in mixture of 3 beaten eggs, 3/4 cup milk, and 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt. Brown on both sides in hot butter. Put 6 slices in shallow baking dish. Mix 1 can cream-of-mushroom-with garlic soup, 1/2 cup each evaporated milk and c chicken broth, 1/2 tsp. bottled thick meat sauce1/4 tsp. pepper, 2 cups diced cooked chicken. Spoon on toast slices; top with remaining slices. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup grated cheese. Bake in hot oven, 400 F., 15 to 20 minutes. Serves 6.
