Harvard Beets



½cup sugar             
½ cup vinegar
2 Tbsps. corn-starch        
2 Tbsps. butter
1 tsp. salt
2 cans (1 lb. each) sliced beets
Mix first 6 ingredients in saucepan. Add 1 cup liquid drained from beets. Cook this, very basic, sweet and sour sauce, until thickened, stirring constantly. Add beets and simmer 10 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
