HUNGARIAN SHEPHERDS GOULASH


HUNGARIAN SHEPHERDS GOULASH- As the name, SHEPHERDS, should indicate, this dish is made from lamb or mutton.
Ingredients:
1 lb.lamb, mutton or mixed meat
1/2 lb. onions
1/2 lb. tomatoes
 1/2 lb sweet peppers
2 Tbsps butter
Paprika
Salt
Method:
Dice the onions and cut the butter into small pieces. Put these together into the bottom of a casserole, and then add the cored and sliced peppers, the diced meat, salt and plenty of paprika. Cover and cook in a hot oven (400 F.) for about two hours.
Just two variations to this:
·   Add 1/2 lb. sauerkraut at the beginning.
·   Add diced raw potatoes and 1 cup water.
